National Level PACT-Star Program

Call for PACT-Star Awards 2024 for School Students (Grade 8 to 12)

PACT2030, which stands for Pledge, Act, Change, Transform—2030, is a social enterprise that empowers academic institutions to think beyond their boundaries and care for the world. Institutions have started to commit to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on an ongoing basis, but we know that the power of togetherness is much mightier. As the name suggests, PACT2030 has a long-term vision and is a scalable model on global platforms.

The United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is one of the most ambitious and vital global agreements. Educational institutions have a leading role in helping society achieve the Global SDGs through leadership, research, teaching and learning, campus operations, and community service. As living laboratories of transformation and innovation, academic engagement, partnerships, and exemplar models are crucial to empowering the next generations, advancing SDGs' progress, and fostering a resilient and equitable future.

What better way to empower our future than to give power and support to young minds—the future is for them, indeed. So, PACT2030 has created 3 funded awards (PACT-Star) for students with ideas for implementing any of the 17 SDGs in their community.

Project Submission Guidelines:

  1. PACT2030 is open only to full-time registered students from classes 8 to 12 at any school in India. Students must have received consent from their school/parents/guardians to submit this entry.

  2. Submitted projects/ideas must be unique and have a direct impact on the community in which the student lives. If the student identifies projects in other communities / away from home, proper justification on how they intend to achieve this would be required in the project brief.

  3. All entries will receive a certificate, and their project will be published on PACT2030 and any other partner channels.

  4. During the contest, a minimum of eight (8) finalists will be shortlisted across India, and they will be given an opportunity to present their ideas through a live virtual event.

  5. The winners must ensure the successful implementation of the project and send an interim project report within 3 months and a final implementation report within 6 months from the date of the final event.

  6. The top 3 selected projects will be awarded funding of up to Rs 1 lakh upon successful implementation (the form of funding will be communicated later to the winners).

  7. All Students will join the PACT-Star Community and form local chapters in their schools to further fuel the idea of sustainability and care for the environment.

  8. The applicants must post a one-minute video on Instagram introducing themselves, their school and QS I-GAUGE and briefly explaining their project idea. The link to this post is mandatory to apply for the contest.

  9. PACT2030 and its secretariat (QS I-GAUGE) reserves the right to decisions and corrections.

  10. Only 1 entry/application is allowed per student, and multiple entries may lead to disqualification.

  11. The entries should be submitted by the participating students on or before the due date.
